i need to replace radiator support in my '87 F250 5.0 4WD.
lots of questions, but main ones are:
i see in many of the on line parts sellers web sites the support AND radiator support reinforcement. Do i need the reinforcement for the 5.0 gas engine? some of the sites such as LMC make it appear the supports are only needed for the diesel engine version.
also, suggestions for best place to buy? LMC seems middle of the road in cost but they also sell the rubber bushings, bolts, etc., and i can't find any other provider for these. the bushings are especially annoying price at $30 each for the larger one, anyone have another source or experience with making something up on their own?
I just did a new radiator support in my 1992 that i bought from LMC, it was a very nice part. It fit just as it should, all my panel gaps lined up with a normal amount of adjustment. I didn't have to drill or die grind any holes. I bought the poly body mount kit from LMC it was a few dollars more for the hole kit then if i would have just bought the rubber radiator mounts from them.
I'm facing that task as well, the support on my '89 is totally gone to that point that the front end flops around going over bumps. I was going to order the part and hardware from LMC. As long as it isn't made in China.
