transmission inspection
does anyone have some tips on what to look for in a manual transmission? im going to looking at a 66 fairlane 4 spd toploader and want to know what to look for. He claims to have driven it and says it shifts and drives great and to his knowledge hasnt been rebuilt but doesnt really know. I have a couple of pics which il post in a sec, it looks pretty greasey but i dont really know what to expect from a 44 year old transmission. if i open the cover what can i see? what should i be looking for? I fully intend to have it rebuilt before installing it but i'd like to get the best possible starting point
