poor truck

early 03 f-250 sounds like a dead cylinder runs rough grayish smoke when idled up cranks every time not a hard start . starts straight up high rpms while running down the road

Could you provide some information about your truck? Mileage, last oil and fuel filter change and what brand you used of both? Can you get it code scanned?

By all the imfo you've given, sounds like it could be a Nissan Diesel from the Dominican Republic. Thats how they run, it is normal!

Any codes? Sounds like a bad injector but have your codes read.
