Does anybody have recommendation for a set of good headers for 4.6L for my 08 F150 4x4? To me cheaper doesn't necessarily mean better. You get what you pay for especailly with car parts. but would like to keep it under 800.00 already have a flow master catback on the truck with Y pip so running 1 muffler with dual tips
This probably doesn't have much bearing to this, but I went through the pain of putting headers on my 77 F250 when the engine was already out, it was a total pain in the butt and the truck ended up sounding and performing the same. Obviously a lot has changed since then with engines, but I spent a bunch of money for headers that barely fit, extended the engine install time by at least an hour, some things like the clutch linkage had to be tweaked to make it fit (who knows if it will cause issues down the road), and in all likelihood will fry my starter well before its time. Totally different scenarios, but I just wanted to share my experience and regret in spending a bunch of money to frustrate me and do more harm than good.
Your experience is exactly what im worried about happening, paticularly with the gaskets, most reviews I read are most gaskets are junk. Plus you have egr, and o2 sensors to worry about it. I have the erie feeling my service engine soon light will pop up and that poses a problem for folks who live in Middle TN, you have to pass emmissions in order to get your tags for your vechicle, and if that light is on you automatically fail
