2002 Alternator issues
For the last two years, my alternator light comes on intermittently; sometimes at idle it will flicker and sometimes during acceleration. I have checked everything and I think it is most likely the alternator. I am getting ready to add a sub woofer amp to my truck probably no more than 400 watts and I am wondering if I should look for a large case 200 amp alternator to be sure I have enough capacity. In my experience with rebuilt alternators, I would rather pop for a new one. Looking for opinions here on a good replacement unit.

Several people have the DB Electrical 200A alternator and are very happy with them. I just ordered a 200A 6G-cased alternator from Eagle Auto Electric off ebay and it is due to arrive (and be installed!) on Friday. I'll let you know how it goes.
DB Electrical = $210 + S&H
Eagle = $133 + S&H
both have a one year warranty, but as I said, Eagle is (for now) an unknown.
