just getting ready to do some stuff to my 2010 and i need some help,
I have 18x9 moto metal wheels with a -12mm offset and I was wondering what is the largest tire, height and width, that I can fit under her. No lift or leveling kit.
I realize I coulda probly searched this but what the heck, I need to get my first post in somewhere!
Well I know a 285/65R18 would fit for sure with no leveling kit. Not sure if a 295/65/18 would fit or not. Your best bet would be to find a good tire place in your area and see if they will do some fit tests on different sizes for you.
The OP said he did not have a leveling or lift kit so I dont think 35s will fit no matter what wheels you use.
I had 305/65/18s on my 04 F150 with leveling kit and still had to trim some plastic out of the wheel well but you could definitely have them test fitted.
Thanks guys! I think il go with some 285/65's and call her good. One more question, I cant decide between good year wranglers or nitto trail grapplers, any expericences with those tires on here? I have 35" bfg mud t/a's on my 76 but they seem to howl quite loudly so im gona stay away from those i think.
Just got the Goodyear Warngler Silent Armor in E rated 285/75/R16 almost 1500 miles ago and I love them but two things that I have found so far:
1. 40 psi doesn't feel very good and wonders noticeably I had mine put up to 80 and they ride hard but true.
2. My tread depth is 16/32 and the rubber they use is soft even in fairly cold conditions hence the reason they are stamped with mountain/snowflake.
Because of the soft rubber even at 80 psi you may feel a little squirm when stopping but that might be my brakes.
I have the Goodyear SilentArmor Wranglers and they are undoubtedly the best A/T tire I've ever run. My job takes me 300+ miles a day, with 60+ on gravel roads and these tires do not complain. They aren't noisy at all either. I do switch to a studded snow tire for winter, but I got caught off guard this year and spent two weeks playing in the snow with the Wranglers and they did very well, but ice is a different story.
