downshift linkage

im looking for a downshift linkage for my 64 f250 it has the 292 and the dual range cruise-o-matic does anybody know where i could locate one of these they seem to be pretty rare

Use a lokar universal kick-down cable kit. Finding a Stock one could be slightly difficult to find, like Hens Teeth.

But the rod needs to be pushed not pulled

You put the cable bracket so the cable is hanging down. Take the cable and lift it up and feed it between the firewall and engine. Connect it to the carburator. The cable should now pull instead of push. My lokar cable is that way for my AOD transmission. Mine had the rod and now is cable operated. Have had no issues for a little over two years now.

so is the cruise o matic similar to the fmx because they offer a kickdown for the fmx its still not cheap seeing as though i will have to redo everything from the pedal foward.
