Hypereutectic Piston?

Are hypereutectic pistons a brand name or are they called this because of what they are made from?

It is a name for pistons made a certain way, not a brand name.

Hypereutectic piston - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Has to do with the alloys that the piston is made from and the temperature at which it is cast.

Don't assume new pistons are hypers...always check the specifications.
