Block heater with remote start

I've been plugging my truck in overnight lately, to help with starting on cold mornings.

I always unplug the truck from the house before I start it, but I was thinking of getting a remote starter for it so I can warm it up before I leave for home after work.

I was wondering if any of you have started a truck while the block heater was still plugged in, if it does anything.

What type of block heater are you using? On the SD, the block heater wams the coolant in the bottom of the block. I usually start the truck then unplug. Unless you drive off before unplugging, you can't hurt anything.

I prefer the heated garage, but starting the engine with the block heater plugged in is not doing any damage.

Unless you don't unplug it before taking off.

Hahahahahaha.

No problem, you can start it with the cord still plugged in.
