e4od question

Hey yall,
I have a 95 f150 4x4 with the e40d trans. Recently the trans went out, Rather then paying for a rebuild I purchased a low mileage replacement unit.

I have the trans in the truck now the swap went well with no probs or least I though, until I went to hookup the wiring connector to the solenoid. The connector on the trans differs from the original trans and will not plug in.

I found out the trans I just installed is out of a 94 model and Ive read the difference between the two are one is
pwm model and one is not.

My question is there a way to make this work? Can I use a solenoid pack in the 94 trans that is designed for the 95, or can I simply change the connector type on the truck to accommodate the 94 unit.

Thanks for any help any yall can provide.

Well yea ya can but the lock up will be rather sudden and harsh because of the way the two differ in managing pressure, might even be a little hard on it over long period of time?

Simply changing the harness end connector would equate to the same thing, unless (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), you get a 95 computer to control it after doing so.
