need new engine
my engine in my 98 4x4 recently went bad and need to get a new one. it has a 4.6 romeo in it i have found a direct replacement but would like a 5.4 will this swap work and what would i have to change.

when you find out , let me know. i have a 5.4(second one in that pickup) and i would put in a 4.6 if it isnt too much of a problem. as far as im concerned, TRITONS ARE JUNK! it will go to a new home once i get it fixed. GIVE ME A FE OR A Y BLOCK ANYDAY!

You need to adjust the exhaust system,put a 5.4 torque converter in your tranny and some custom tuning of your computer.
Not much to it really.
