Tolerance on head gasket surface

Is +/- 0.005 acceptable for stock gaskets? My heads pass +/- 0.005 but fail +/-0.002

FMC says that anything more than .004........scrap the heads.

I have more details.... I'm out 0.003 in one place. I had my black onyx gaskets blow at in the one place were if was out 0.003. Do you think I will be Ok with stock gaskets?

Why take the chance of gasket failure again if it can be avoided. If your head that blew the gasket was OK when you put the Onyx gaskets and ARP studs on failed, then it's not saying too much for the studs.

the thing is i don't know if I can machine any more off because I bought a reconditioned set. they were suppose to be decked when I received them I did check to verify flatness plus it would have been very hard to find this small spot it is only ~1 inch wide between one cylinder and the closest coolant passage. How for I know if any more material can be machined off?
