Transmission issues ???

Hi All, just recently blew a transmission line, and had to have the poor old girl towed to a shop. Repaired the line, but now between the speeds of 50 to 80 km, she is kind of "jerking" along untill I hit 80 kms/hr. Feelsalmost like when you are driving a standard in the wrong gear, ! When the line broke,I immediately pulled over,so she was't driven with no trany fluid. Any thoughts??? Even paid extra to have it towed on a flat deck truck.

Im guessing you checked the fluids, have you had a transmission flush lately? Sometimes old tranny fluid can really do messed up things.

Do you know what the door code of your transmission is?

Haven't had it flushed, but certainly had it drained (LOL)

Never heard of this. What is it, and where do I find the code?

Look on your door, there should be a sticker, on the sticker should say transmission or something along those lines, under that there should be a letter. It tells what kind of transmission it has.

Check the modulator valve. and the vacuum lines to it. They also could be plugged with dirt. This can cause the bad shifting. Fords modulator valves are external, with a vacuum line to it. Located on the back of the tranny on the rightside above the oil pan. They tend to get a lot of dirt built up on them there. The hoses can rot from the dirt and oil there and cause a plugging or small vacuum leak that it does not work properly.
