I tested it...

...and it passed with flying colors! Last weekend I gave my 2011 F250, 6.2 it's first real test. I had a 3000 lb pallet of flagstone, 400 lbs of grain, 10 bails of hay, 2 chickens, and a bread maker in the bed. I went from Chambersburg PA, to Hertford NC and the truck didn't even break a sweat. I had the pallet around 50/50 over the rear axle and the rear leafs were about 1-2 inches off the stops, I'm sure it would have been better if we could have gotten the pallet further forward. The motor pulled like a mad man onto the highway and cruised through the hills at 65-70 with barely a downshift. Very satisfied with the results.

you must have a regular cab.....before i put my 350 blocks on i carried 1200# of salt plus the sander which weighs 800# and my truck was bottoming out over the smallest bumps. Sitting it was about 1-2" above the stops. Since then with the 350 blocks and timbrens its been a smooth ride.

It would squat on the stops while taking off and some of the bigger bumps, but for the weight it was very comfortable. Oh, the truck is a super cab with 3.73 gears.

Even the 08-10's have this problem with the leaf springs. That is the only real complaint. I see though that you have taken care of the issue.

I have air bags on mine. I have wondered how the 6.2 is doing. You don't hear so much.

The 6.2 was definitely not the weak link in the equation (if there were any). For my purposes, I'm glad I went with the gasser, couldn't be happier.

What do ya figure on your payload? Around 3900 lbs. Pretty good. How do you rate the acceleration? What kind of gas mileage do you get?

I would say that is a good guess. The lie o meter said between 14 and 16 MPG. Iv'e made the same ride numerous times with all kinds of different loads on, this being the largest and it only used a little more gas than usual. Still made it in one tank with about a quarter tank left when I got home, roughly 360 miles. No complaints on the acceleration, on ramps were a breeze, no problems merging at all.
