All right, when i am turning the stering wheel in my truck while going down the road, its only on sort of sharp turns it makes like a crunch sound and it only dose it while its going down the road not when sitting in drive way turning wheel i looked and nothing is touching the tire , nothing is hanging lose it all looks sound and secure, but it obviously isnt by making that sound any ideas on what it could be ?
it is a quick crunch, what ever is making that sound dose it soon as i make the turn, it only dose it when i am turning a bit sharp it dosent do it on every turn ,it is excspesially i dont know how to say it,but it is crunchyer when i am turning as i am hitting a hill or large bump.
it is not a harsh crunch like a soda can it sounds softer ,it is hard to describe but i want to fix it asap
Check your ball joints, tie rod ends, suspension bushings (leaf spring or radius arm) and front axle u-joints (if 4wd). Any of those might be causing the noise.
I think i know what is wrong now i dont know what the rod is called but the po was exremely cheap in repairing his truck and he wrapped a yellow tow rope around this bar that has a rubber stopper , ill just post a pic tomorow to much mumbo jumboto type !
Here is the pic, could someone tell me what this is call i think this is my crunching problem you can see where all the rubber has sort of blown out of it what do i neeed to fix this what is the part called ?
i thik the po was pulling it out of the mud and he attached the tow rope to the sway bar and the rope slid into the bushing the bushing housing is all bent out of whack he actuallu left the knot of the tow rope pinned under the bushing ahd just cut the rest of the rope off i think , the truck must have been in like axle deep mud the whole underside of the truck is caked in it i figured it would help keep rust from forming
