1987 4.9 died yesterday

Well I have had a hard time with my 87, it has gone down several times but this is the second time I couldn't get it going again....

Replaced...

Fuel pump high pressure
Fuel Filter
Ignition module
Selector valve has been replaced by previous owner
Fuel pump relay
Both tanks full
Coil
Cap/rotor/wires/plugs
TPS sensor
Coolant temp sensor
Idle air control valve
Map sensor

I'm guessing the in tank pump is failing or selector valve going out again.. any advice? A friend said it could be the computer.

I have a new fuel pressure gauge and adapter for the ford from Napa, its showing 40psi when pump is energized, I have the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose disconnected to try and get more psi. It was running with 40psi at cranking the other day, I wasn't sure if it was the gauge error or it was possible to run fine with 40psi at start up. Its showing 40 now just as it did before but the same problems. Any help welcomed, I've been reading as much as possible and it seems this is a common problem with 85-89 ford efi.

it died while idling, went to restart and it wouldn't, I cycled the key on/off to energize the pump and it restarted after a few tries. I got out of the parking lot and about 50 feet down the road when it hesitated then died, tried the same thing with no results. It will start on starting spray. It has plenty of spark, not sure if the injectors are pulsing, they are way down in there.

SIMILAR ISSUE 88,F-150 Sarts won't stay running.

Have similar issues with my 88 f-150...located my "First interia switch",(process of elimination) appears button is depressed, found it on the drivers side inside firewall above and just to the right of E brake pedal. Next step is check the relay- anybody know where that is ?
Chilton book says may have to drive it up to 10 miles for the computer to catch up...."huh"!...I know, I think I know it is a small/easy fix...not good money chasing bad money.
