heater troubles

Hello folks,
I have not used a site like this before but hope I can find some answers.
My heater in my 2003 F350 does not seem to turn on when the temperature is between 4 and -4 if its really cold it turns on right away. When I say heater I mean the blower I can feel the heat just no blower so my truck is freezing. Another strange thing is that I have noticed it sometimes will get it going if I hit a bump or if it is already going and its very cold out I can hear the blower lag and almost shut down. Very strange but true I have taken it in 3 times and they say they cannot fix it. I'm freezing and have a child so I need to find the answer soon. If you have any information I would great appreciate some light on this.
Thank you

builder1000 welcome to FTE!

I would start by checking the electrical connections on your fan motor.

Heater

Thx bud,
I will try to look up where these connections are, I can build you a high rise but could not find the gas cap on my trucks.

The attachment below gives a pretty good picture of where the blower motor and connector are. That is showing the passenger side rear of the engine compartment.

If you find that connector looks OK. No green corrosion, dirt, evidence of electrical sparking (carbon), etc. then the next thing I would look at is the blower motor relay. The 2nd diagram shows the location of it.
