300 to 351, help?
My 300 in my 87 5speed 2X4 finally kicked the bucket, after hauling my truck up Michigan porcupine mountains with a blown headgasket between the 5 and 6, she still pulled and drove home dry ( I was boned in the middle of the wild, used ditch water for a while
)anyways, Im a rather broke college student.
after changing the gasket, and reassembly the motor ran like garbage, burned oil like a monster, has 30% original power. kinda sucks bad.
I received a carburetor 351 windsor out of a van, built by a neighbor for use in his project truck, but was replaced with a 460.(lucky)
Anways, I know that I will need motor mounts, radiator and exhaust. on to my questions
what else will I need,
will my clutch work??
Second I plan on replacing my mazda M5OD2 for my older original 87 4 speed, it was freshly rebuilt, but I replaced it with the Mazda. I heard they were unreliable thoughts?
and the bolt pattern for a 300 is the same as the 302 and 351, correct? will I need new trans mounts/drive shaft

if you change the tranny most likely will need a new mount ! there is always little things that you will need as well !
