Rear Sensing System Problem

So Im getting ready to back out of my driveway today and this thing is going off with the solid BEEP. So I get out and check and nothing. I have had my small hitch in for the past few weeks, so I think maybe thats it take it out and same thing. So I now get under the truck and all 4 plugs look fine. So now this stupid thing goes Beep everytime I go in Reverse. Anyone else?

Tim

Is it cold where you are? My brother's went off and we found that a sensor had frost on it.

Ya it 's the coldest yet. I tried to clean the sensors but no difference. Thanks for the idea.

Yea, any small amount of ice will cause the alerts to go off.
It will be a normal issue during the winter.

Huh... That seems to be a design flaw. I'll have to watch out for it. I'm sitting in a hotel right now and the truck is outside getting snowed on.

The only way that this could be avoided is if the truck had radar backup sensing (and its still might do it if know built up on the bumper)instead of the "sight" sensors. To my knowledge it just has something to do with condensation in the sensor that becomes larger ice particles that the sensor can see. IMO its nothing new to me. I've been dealing with it for about 7 years now.

Mine did it for the first time yesterday too. The sensors on my car have never done that, but it is a GM so the design may be different. There has to be something getting inside because the outside had nothing on it.

Maybe Ford should add this to their Remote Start items to preheat. Before long, the remote start checklist will begin looking like a launch sequence.

Mirrors heated, check
Seats heated, check
Winshield defroster on, check,
Rear window defroster on, check
Rapid heat on, check
Rear sensing heater on, check

Houston, we are a GO for launch!

It lasted the rest of the day. Get in today and just fine like nothing happen. I have had them on other trucks and never a issue. My last one was a 2009 F250 V10. I hope this doesnt keep happening it is very annoying.
