Well after reading this forum a million times im starting to mod the truck. I beleive in getting the truck in shape before adding all kinds of mods. I have ordered the frx and hpx from clay, but first I ordered a FP gauge kit from DI.. Got that installed last night.
I noticed a few things and could use help as im a bit unsure what the stuff is called and what it is suppoed to be like.
looking at the engine while laying on the rad support i noticed that the lines on the fuel bowl lower drivers side (looks like they feed heads or return) are loose (they wiggle quite a bit) .
Also after getting the gauge installed I noticed that below those same lines almost in the valley on the drivers side of the HPOP is a round cylinder with a plug, at the end of it the device looks to be threaded but there is no nut and the round cylinder slides back and fourth.. anyone know what it is? should I put a nut on it? truck runs fantastic and also starts great in the low 30's to high 20's we already have.
The fuel lines will wiggle. They have a thick, square cut O-ring inside the nut that allows some movement. As long as they aren't leaking, they should be ok. If you ever remove them, they should be replaced.
The other part described is the IPR and is SUPPOSED to have a spacer with a tin nut on it to hold the coil from sliding back and forth. Look in the block valley, you may find it still laying there. If you find the parts, clean them up, and put a drop of blue loctite on the threads before installing the tin nut. The flanged side of the spacer goes toward the coil.
