I have put a couple different posts in this forum regarding lifting my truck and i have got alot different ideas but i no deffinet answers so what do you guys really reccomend a 4"or a 6" lift and what kind of lift and what shock should i buy and last what size bfg mt should i get?
hey i got a 1999 f-250. i just put on my 4 inch suspension lift. i got the Superlift brand with dual front shocks. i got superlift cause thier front springs have 10 leafs per pack which makes for a good ride. i have pics of it in my gallery if you wanna see what it will look like with a 4 inch lift. i havent bought my tires and rims yet but thier comming soon. im going to get bfg mud terrians. 35/12.50/16.5 on 16.5X9.75 rims.
FireHazard since you have a LIGHT DUTY F-250 and Starratt04 has a SUPER DUTY F-250, you guys are talking apples to oranges here. His lift won't work for you.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Did you find out if the 6" Fabtech will work for your truck

it was around $1300 just for the lift. if you just wanted the basic lift you could get that for under $800. i installed the lift my self. it wasent to hard if you have the right tools and at least kinda know what your doing it sould be too hard. it took me and my dad around 11 hours to put it on. it took about 7 hours just for us to get on both leaf springs jus cause we only jacked up the front. the rest of the lift was pretty easy, just time consuming. i got the dual shocks up front cause my friend has a leveling kit on his and he said his kinda bounces in the front cause we both have the diesel engines and it very heavy so the dual shocks help control it better. any more Questions? feel free to ask away.
$1300 so what was covered in the kit you got? I don't unfortanally have the option of installing it myself... have the tools just not allowed to do that sorta stuff in the area i am in but for example what if a guy went down there with $5000 canada what could he get?
i dont know how much $5000 canada dollars is but the kit i got had everything execpt the pitman arm included. i had to buy that extra which was $57. i like the superlift brand lift my self. i run my tires at a high psi 60 just so they last long and the ride is still very smooth for running tire that high.
