Check enging light.

2003 4.6 5-speed 87,000 miles. While i was driving yesterday the truck started to stutter and jerk while at low rpms, then the check engine came on. at this time the low fuel was on. I pulled into the gas stations filled up and added some iso heat thinking maybe there was just a little water in the tank. truck is running back to normal now but the check engine light is on. My question, is there something that i can do to make this go off by myself or do i need to take it in and have them run there computer on it.

Disconnect the battery for ten minutes or so and that should reset the computer. Also, you could take it to an auto parts store and they may check the codes and reset the light for free...

If it isn't to late do not disconnect the battery! Go to AutoZone and have code/codes read. Post the exact numbers here and we can help you fix the problem correctly. Just because the light goes away doesn't the problem goes with it.
