Yeah, just did that, and got my advice right here.
I found a real good seat out of a late 70's/early 80's ford truck, and it swapped right in, just had to drill the bolt holes a little bit.
The later seats aren't bouncers, it made my truck feel much nicer.
All the seats are the same dimensions, just not sure up till which year.

1996 is about the last year.
was checkin in on this very info. was in FORDification.com - The 1967-1972 Ford Pickup Resource site and have some detailed info on this subject. Check it out and it has photo's and other related info.
