Strange noise
My 7.3 turbo diesel started making a noise that sounds like an air compressor letting out air. It only happens when cold . I press on the accelerator it starts to hiss, let off it stops. After driving a few miles it's normal. I'm not too familiar yet with diesel engines so any help is welcome

First winter with my 02 7.3. I've got the same thing going on. So this is to be expected? And pushing through it due to the powerloss during start out is not something to be afraid of, or damaging to the engine\turbo etc?
