Intermittent problem with turn signals and transmission

I have a 1994 F150 with 5.0 and 4R70W transmission it has the push button 4x4. I have the problem with the transmission intermittently seems to me getting stuck between 3 and 4 gear (neutral condition) sometimes when shifting up and sometimes shifting down. I also have a problem that comes and goes with turning signal. I am not sure if they are related but I think when the turning signal does not work the transmission never has its problem but when they work the transmission acts up most trips to work but not every trip. I drive 15 miles one way to work. I have just recently replaced the clockspring. I know the transmission could be the mlps but before I buy one just wanted to make sure these issued were not related. would the turning signal be the multifuncion switch or hazard switch? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
