If you can't find one, don't worry about it. I have run many vehicles without the inspection cover with no problems.

Yep. I have done several swaps where I didn't have the proper cover, and though I at first didn't like the thought of leaving it open, I drove it like that anyway and never had any problems. I have done it so many times now, I would not let it hold the whole project up. If you find one later on, great. But you can certainly drive it till you find one, if you ever do.

On a 460, this isn't just an inspection plate like on a diesel. It's the spacer/starter locator like on a smallblock. Without it, the starter won't sit in the right position, and will most likely break the bellhousing.

The plate goes on before the flywheel.
You can see the starter spacer in this photo.

I have a bellhousing if yours is toast.

Another one of Ford's great ideas. I am assuming you are swapping from a auto to a manual? Or maybe a 4 speed to a 5 speed? If you get desperate, possibly you could use the old plate as a spacer like the other guys where talking about IF it uses the same starter. You might have to wack it off on the bottom though.

No, sorry.
I kept that same plate when I swapped to the ZF-5

I only have the T-19's hydraulic bell housing.

I am using the same plate with my ZF-5.
Didn't remove the flywheel from the donor, it was heat checked.

Sorry, I had to snap them and upload to Flickr.

The slave slides into this bracket.
Then a 5/16 head selftapping screw locks it in.
You can see the little hole in the lower inboard corner of the boss.

Here's one installed highlighting the head of the screw.

I'm a computer imbecile, so I just used chalk rather than trying to add it digitally w/ photoshop.
