My light has been on for over 200k.
I can't get any flashes by grounding the orange/black wire.
I have replaced the pumpkin sensor and bled the RABS valve.
My poor vision (over 40) and that blurry photo I have to ask...that warning indicator is the red lamp not the yellow/amber ABS indicator? If so there is a low fluid level switch in the master cylinder. Low fluid level or a faulty switch can cause the red lamp to turn on.
The photo's blurry, but the amber indicator between the woodgrain strips says "rear antilock"
rla is right. if both lights are on you should check the fluid level indicator in the master cylinder and the plug that attaches to the side.
The plug often corrodes due to brake fluid spillage.
i fixed mine in the 88 by removing the light bulb and bypassing the valve back in 88 when the truck had less than 3,000 miles on it.
have not had any problems with the rear brakes besides routine maintenance since.
Well maybe 15? I turn I my computer with my morning coffee, I generally leave it on all day, unless I know I'll be gone several hours, then I might shut it off.
no the red one is on and the yellow one flashes 4 times and according to the link the rabs valve switch is closed
Where ya get that? (scratch that, seen your link)
In my book says 4 flashes = "open or shorted valve switch or harness".
Circuit 534 open or short.
Circuit 274/397 Open.
Or replace RABS valve
(Depending on results of testing)
534 runs between Module and Valve, LB/R wire.
274 Grounds Valve, Black wire.
397 Not finding it in the diagram, might be a one or the other type deal or is simply hiding in plain view.
