new question. i was wondering if i disabled my converter from locking up and drive it like that, would it be tearing something up. and what about how would i go about fixing it so it wouldnt lock at all for a test drive. if it doesnt change anything ( my problem ) then i,ll hook it back up. maybe cut a wire on it somewhere 1990 f350 7.3

ok so i was uptown stopped in a transmission shop, let em drive my truck, he said its normal. thats the way its programed to shift from factory. only option i had was to put something on her to change when the torque converter locks up. a tuner or something like that.so anybody know of a good one that an everyday mark like myself could install?
There are articles about it on the net, seen many that were referring to doing it on Dodges, but the same idea applies. Main thing is knowing what governor pressure you want it to cut in at, and then hook it up in the governor pressure tap. Governor pressure corresponds to a driveshaft speed, which then relates to ground speed. I had looked up some switches to do this to the Cummins trans when it was automatic...
