I have the lsd in my dually and love it. It was from the factory and has 160000 on it. My last truck has a locker and I didn't care for it at all. On the pavement in snow, ice or wet surface it tends to pull out around corners or hard stops on dry surface can take the truck side to side.
Locker: If you encounter snow or ice i would not recomend it. If one tire looses traction the other side is not far behind, they will both spin out and you are more likely to loose controll. With the extra lenght of your CC LB you will not be as prone to it comming around on you, if you decide to go that route. Also there are deffinate driving characteristic that you have to get used to. Personaly i think they are more for off-road use and not great for DD.
Limited Slip: Not as good for traction in the mud, rocks, and off camber situations, but hey in a dulley you probably wont see too much of that. You also may have to run a friction modifier, and may have clutch packs that wear out. Or like "a-rod" and his true-trac that is geared you dont have those two issues, and i would have gone that route if i went new, but i got used axels ones when mine went bad.
Update.....I will be installing an Eaton Tru-Trac next week. I was going to go with an Auburn but, I have a Dana 80 and they don't make one to fit.
Also, on a related note, I do have 3.73 gears in the factory rear diff. of my '01 F350 dually.
I know a lot of you guys say it ain't so, but I bought this truck new and I have always felt that it was high geared. The "606614-4" tag on the diff cover confirms it.
Thanks for the input and all your help.

YES YES YES I'm not the only one! Maybe now they'll quit second guessing me!! I'm curious and I don't remember was your original chunk open? If so like mine I wonder why they never put the lsd in with the 3:73's?
Oh yes, it's open. That's the big problem with the damn thing. It'll get stuck in a cow track.
I'm hoping this Tru-Trac will solve the problem.
It's about time I put a flatbed on this one and leave it at the farm. I could sell my inlaws kidneys and buy me a new 6.7
Having driven lot's of miles on snow and ice with lockers, I would advise caution with lockers and even tight lsd. On a slight camber when you lose traction you are going down hill fast.
It was just the LSD that wasn't installed with the 3:73 gears. In 99 I don't even think it was available dually 3:73.I wanted the LSD and dually and the only way they could order it was with 4:10 diff. Good luck on the new rear end, Be carefull in the snow on highway till you see how it acts. I have had no problems with mine I think alot has to do with the dual wheel set up.
Thanks for the input guys. I've had LSD's before, just not in a dually. It does present a new equation when driving on an icy or snowy road but, I think it will be worth it in the long run. Next truck will be a SRW and it won't be such an issue.
It may be to late but have you checked into selectable lockers? Open for normal driving and you can lock it with the push of a button. Best of both worlds. With arb air lockers you will also have an on board air compressor. If not the true trac is the best non selectable diff out there in my opinion. My buddy just put one in his dmax and loves it

I'm more of a "set it and forget it" type of guy. I looked into the E-Locker, but, I think the Tru-Trac is the way to go for me.
Thanks
another DRW here, mines 3:73 open diff as well. It really pisses me off that i gotta have the hubs locked and in 4x4 to even get out of my driveway....
anyone have entire rear axle laying around with the 3:73lsd?
DRWs don't pull good even with posi,I have thought about putting singles on mine for the winter even if it does look goofy
Not sure where you live but down here in la we need all the flotation we can get! I have to watch were I drive around my house not to bury it to the axle!
Duals don't really offer good flotation. When I was in the sand and mud in Fla I converted my work trucks to wide singles to stand on top of it.Duals were really worthless
In some instances duals with chains pull pretty good but chains are my last resort
