Hey all new to the FTE site thought i would introduce myself. Im a Soldier that is currently in Afghanistan deployed and all that. Well i came down on orders for Fort Carson, Co and figured hmm mountains and snow time to get a 4X4. In that i make a call to my step dad and low and behold he tells me he just acquired a 91 F250 4x4 with the 7.3l Diesel and said he would sell it to me for 2k and im like Ohh yea? done deal lol. anyway gonna be lifting it 6 in for a good start but question i have is im looking into tire and wheels. I want 16 inch wheels and want to run 35 12.50 tired not sure on brand yet but thats the size i want. The question is will the tires fit on a 8 inch rim??
These are what i am looking at
and this is the truck as it sits
Interior will be redone
dump bed and sticker magnet will be gone
step dad couldn't figure out the electronic windows so he got manual doors hes a goober so excuse him lol
i dont think its a bad start
it will be painted probably a dark hunter green or two tone same green and white not sure yet
A 315/75/16 is the same as a 35/12.5, you CAN run them on a 8" wide wheel, but I would recommend a 10" myself
Did he keep the old doors or at least the innards from them? If not you can still hit the JY and find the motor and lift to put the power windows back in, the shells are all the same
Are you sure about wanting to go with a 6" lift and the 35's? Reason I ask is on a F250 you can run 35's with a 4" kit with no problems.
Here's my 90 F250 w/95 front clip, 6" lift and 315/75/16 Maxxis Mudders, for comparison purposes, the last one is the ex standing next to it. Keep in mind she's only 5ft Tall.
nice to see someone throw a pic of something similar to what i want to do. Looks like 4 inch would do it lol. Thanks as far as the doors yea i can get em back. The guy he bought the truck from has like 6 of the damn things. So the doors aren't and issue. Loving your truck by the way
