460 interceptor?
The stock 360 in my '74 F250 4x4 failed and I've located what a seller claims to be a 460 interceptor with a C6 tranny. Will that motor match my 4spd tranny and engine mounts?
Also, I owned a '75 F100 with a 390 Interceptor- very dependable and responsive. Was there really a 460 interceptor?
Assuming the engine is sound, can I expect the same performance?

Not sure on the 460 interceptor. No the 460 will not bolt to your trans or motor mount towers. To stuff the 460 you will need towers out of a 76 or so lincoln town car with 460. As far as the C6 working with your tranny x-member, maybe, the two 4 speeds are different lengths i believe. A 460 is a good runnin engine period, and if you want it to run better, they respond really well to aftermarket upgrades. Things like straight up timing, intake and a decent cam will easily put it above the 300hp mark, then a set of d0ve heads and you should be knockin on the door of 400hp.
