Hey guys, I had some questions as now i will be saving money to upgrade my engine. First off is injectors, i've heard you can get stage 2 injectors and detune them using your chip to say stage one levels. if so can you run them with a stock hpop and turbo? Secondly, i've heard the term fire ringed, can this be done to our engines and what is process to do this (also what is the benifit?) Lastly will roller rockers make any difference and is it worth it? I do plan on for the long term to have a adreneline hpop, h2e turbo and stage 2's with and upgraded fuel system, and of course head studs and push rods. sorry long post, have so many questions after being gone for awhile.
Firerings... They are basically a wire that takes the place of the metal rings in the head gaskets. So when you firering, you have to have head gaskets that have the metal part around the cylinders taken out. They have to cut a groove in the cylinder heads or the block, which ever the kit wants, and they put the wire down in that groove to prevent blowing out the head gaskets from high cylinder pressures. For just stage 2's, you will not need firerings. Just the stock head gaskets with studs.
Roller rockers... For what you want from your engine, roller rockers will not be of much, if any benefit. Plus they cost $1000+...
Injectors, you can get a 238cc hybrid and detune it to run almost stock levels if you wanted to. With stage 2's you can run the stock HPOP, but you will be running out of oil very easily.. You can also run stage 2's with the stock turbo pretty good also, but you will be upgrading that also b/c you will blow the stock one eventually. Obviously you will be needing custom tuning to get full benefit from any of these mods if you don't already have it. Tony Wildman is close to us and so is Matt Robinson. They both do great tuning. Tony is up in Ft. Worth area and Matt is in Bryan.
