The doors that control where the air goes are operated by vacuum. Open your glove box, and pry inwards on the area where the stops are. You will be able to see the vacuum lines there. It could be that you are not getting vacuum to there, or it could be the heater controls. If the core is getting hot, you are just not directing the air to the cab. You will be able to see a few of the door controls from the glove box area, you should be able to open/close them to see if that is all it is. Pull the heater controls out too and check everything there.
