I have a 1997 F-250, 7.3 with 205,000 miles. When pulling a load, small or large, the turbo gets up to 900 degrees and there is a thumping that can be heard and felt to the driver. All other parameters are normal. HELP!

kinda need more info on your truck mods and all are you all stock or what, welcome to fte
Probe should be on the manifold, not the downpipe. You won't get accurate temps on the downpipe. It reads 2-300 degrees too cool there. Magic number is 1200 though, don't want to be over that for very long.
I had a simalar issue this summer but I have an aftermarket down pipe. Turned out that under load (towing Jeep on trailer with pickup camper on back about 16k lbs overall) the down pipe was just touching enough to make me think something bad was about to happen. I took a pry bar and made a little more clearance (also make sure insulation is not touching) and all is good again. If you do in fact still have your stock down pipe this is more than likely not your issue.
