Couple Issues.....

So tonight I set out to change glow plugs and turn up my injection pump.

I have a non waste-gated banks turbo on my 7.3 and when I took off the air box there was oil everywhere, from the air box to down in the intake manifold. I don't know if its coming from the tube that goes from the timing cover to the air box or from the turbo itself. I don't really know where to go with this issue so any insight would be helpful. The exhaust has never looked or smelled like its burning oil so I don't think wherever its coming from is letting to much out and its just kinda building up but there is a puddle coming out of the turbo.

Secondly, a few of the connectors for my glow plugs have seen better days, one of the wires broke and others seem to wanna crumble. I'm curious what you guys have done fix them? I was thinking about trying to solder the wire right to the glow plug but there's gotta be a option out there.

oil is from the cdr, if its the same as the ats setup that relocates it. i doubt its from the turbo. someone here who remembers where they are will post where you can get replacement bullet connectors.

i beleave the blue female crimp on bullet connectors will fit on the end of the gp. id solder the connector on and use a little heat shrink for a good connection.

Pull the CDR hose at the air box and check for oil inside it. The alternate is that the oil feed fittings on top of the turbo are leaking, but that's far less likely.

If its like the newer Banks setup, there's an articulated oil drain hose running from the bottom of the turbo center section to a grommet in the valley pan. It's not secured in there as well as the other bits. You have to hang in behind the turbo or grab an inspection mirror to check it out.

You can get "Bullet Connectors" at most auto parts stores for the glow plugs, mine took yellow sized ones IIRC. Solder the bullets to your GP harness. Don't solder directly to the GP, tried that, it's a mess. The plating on the connector is not friendly to even the largest solder guns, and its real hard to rough up enough to stick.

x2 on the heat shrink, wire protection is key!
