I have a 1992 F150 4x4 and I am converting it to mass air. I have a 1995 F150 2wd. I want to know if I have everything I need in this 1995 pickup to do a full update? I have run into a speed bump with my wire harness convert with the fuel pumps. I am trying to move the entire wiring system over. Just need sound advice.
It sounds like you may have to combine elements of both harnesses. Does your truck have electronic transfer case as well? The 2wd harness won't have that either.
I've done this conversion just using the original harness, splitting the jacket & isolating cylinders 1&2, soldering 6 wires to the remaining cylinders injectors, getting the ECU pins from a junkyard by cutting the computer connector off a donor vehicle, soldering the 6 wires to the pin stubs & adding them to the connector, running 2 new wires from computer connector to a mass air connector (also from junkyard) splicing the power & ground wires & carrying them out & connecting to the mass air connector, one more wire from computer tied to single o2 sensor(or you can add the 2nd, if you're ambitious), then you need to swap 2 or 3 pins that are in different location for mass air from SD, & you're done electrically.
Since you already have a late harness, you might be able to do it even easier than that by splicing in the whole injector harness, etc.
I have a manuel case. I have moved over the entire harness for the engine and I want to move the complete 95 wire harness from bumper to bumper. I have a couple of connections I don't know what to do with. First the 95 has two connections on the ac compressor. Second one of the pigtail connections for the tranny has four wires (4wd) while the other has three (2wd). What should I do with these?
I don't know about that, that's why I was saying you might have to combine them. Is it possible to use the ac compressor from the '95? Do both trucks have the same model transmission?
