looking for new tires
truck is a 2008 cc lb 4x leveled. it is getting close to needing new shoes. i wanted to get a taller tire without losing any of the stock ride or noise characteristcs. it has 275-65-20 goodyears from factory. i was looking at the 285-55-20 which is listed as a plus 2 size upgrade on discount tire website- but i dont know what the sizes mean for height and width? any ideas on the right tires to pick?
my 02 had 315 pro comps on it that i liked but they were load and stiff ride but so was that truck compared to the 08. thanks.

Check out the tire specs on their website. That will tell you all you need to know, ie; diameter, width overall, etc. Looks to me that you're looking at a shorter tire. Heres how metric tire sizes works; In your OEM tire, you have LT275-65/20. the 275 is the width in millimeters. The 65 is the aspect ratio. Meaning the sidewall of the tire is 65% of the tire's width. The 20 of course is the rim dia. in inches.
