I just dropped in a freshed up 351 from a 95 e250 van. I pulled the heads and ported them and installed a e303 cam. The motor is running great compared to the old motor and still has a few issues with stalling after coming to a stop. It has no smog pump and a blocked off egr tube. my question is what can I do to help with the idle issues? adjustable fuel regulator, mass air conversion, etc. Here are a few videos of it running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7hJ3ZHYMVc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gjAp-U_jpM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PY1jhr3WuA
Yes, that is a mass air meter installed just not functional yet.
I knew I would get some flack from using the E303 cam.. I have this harness that i was using to switch it over to mass air so it would run better with the E303 cam but it did not run at all with this hooked up. I'm not sure who build it or where it came from but i m thinking it piggybacks the stock truck computer to use the transmission controller. I bought it from a guy parting out his 91 Bronco that had a built motor. I'm not sure on on the computer that is in it also. What do you all think?
The mass air conversion kit you have looks like a Pro-M mass system; it uses your factory ECU to control the transmission and another mass air ECU, normally an A9L type, to control the engine. You will need to convert to mass air with that cam; speed density needs more vacuum at idle than that cam will offer.
Like above , with the E cam you will need to hook up the MA , the cam will work very good but i would recomend a good dyno tune to get the most out of it ....Lew
didnt we tell you not to run that cam awhile back? there are far better cam selections out there.
I suspect your bronco is a 92+ model. are you running your current computer along with that mass air computer or did you try and use the 91 computer along with the mass air computer?
does that kit look for dual o2 sensors or just 1? did you unplug the vacum line running to the map sensor? whats your base timing set at with the motor warmed up and the spout connector removed?

I knew it was coming! I Got the Mass air conversion before I dropped the Motor in so I would not run into this problem! I used this Cam because I had it all ready and did not want to spend the money on a new one. I ported the heads myself, changed all the valve seals, changed every gasket on the motor to help keep costs low. Im determined to get it to work. Anyways, It is a 93 and I was running the mass air computer along side the my current computer before I dropped the motor in and it was running fine. After I swapped the motors It did not want to run at all with the mass air conversion computer. I pulled the mass air conversion and it started right up. Im suspecting the mass air computer is faulty or just the wrong computer and thats why im posting all this asking for your help. The wire harness only has one o2 sensor but I still have two o2 sensors pluged in. (one for the original harness and one for the mass air harness.) My exhaust system has two bungs one on each side. I did try to unplug the map sensor but it did nothing. I also had the timing set at 10" and then set it at 16" to help stop the surging and burn a little more fuel but it did not help. Well I hope that helps a little.
I did try to unplug the map sensor but it did nothing.
On a Ford, that's usually a good way of finding the problem. Pull a plug, and if it runs the same or better, it's usually bad. I'd check into that a little more.
Then again, that could be caused from the wiring or computer. So, back where we started, lol.
the map vac line must be pulled for the mass air to function properly.
locate an A9L or A9P mass air ecu.
also just curious if that mass air meter was previously setup to run a larger injector? do you know?? are you still running 19lb injectors?
He was running 24lb injectors with the pro M mass air but I put a stock truck Mass air in and 19lb injectors. I need to locate a computer now. Thanks for your help.
What trans is in your truck ? , if its computer controled they can change your line pressure , adjust TQ converter & set all your shift points with the chip....Lew

It has a e4od and the computer running the motor is a a9l. The stock computer is still running the transmission.
you must reprogram your Psom for the tire size change. do a search up in the bronco thread/forum for PSOM recalibration. its easy and will help tremendously.
what size are those by the way and what gearing are you running?
