I've seen that colour combo before .... but just ask him to send a pic of the door vin - it will have the colour code on it ... doesn't mean it hasn't been repainted tho ....
I find that sellers seem really inconvenienced' by my request for more pics .... or more info ... I always tell them I'm not down the street or I'd stop by ... I'm always at least 500 miles away. if you don't wanna go to lengths to satisfy me and my questions, I'll spend my money on something else... don't advertise on the web either - stick to local papers then. Many a time I've travel 4 + hrs one way to find absolute ****!!!! I never get an answer as to what make their truck "rare "either"....
The price though seems very reasonable .... Lots of people have to learn to distinguish between appraised value and actual market value.
Be weary of buying a used vehicle that just had the transmission rebuilt. If someone is planning to get rid a vehicle, why would they spend a significant amount of money in repairs, only to turn around and sell it for less than they've likely got into it? It's highly unlikely that the previous owner had every intention of keeping the truck and proceeded to have the transmission rebuilt, only to turn around and decide he wanted a 4WD three weeks later. Usually if you spend that kind of money on an older vehicle, you hang on to it as long as you can to get the most out of your investment.
There are two reasons this happens:
(1) The truck has been a money pit, the transmission was the last straw, and the owner wants to recoup as much of their loss as possible, OR
(2) The owner got the truck back from the transmission shop, wasn't happy with the rebuild (slips, etc), and the transmission shop won't play ball. Then the owner turns around and sells it because he or she just doesn't want to deal with it anymore, again to recoup as much of their loss as possible.
Of course, there are always exceptions (unexpected espenses, having a child, etc) where people turn around and sell a vehicle very quickly. But since he's obviously misusing the term "mint condition", I have refrained from giving him the benefit of the doubt. Plus, if he needed to sell for financial reasons, he wouldn't be asking that high of a price for that truck. It's not priced to sell in my opinion. In my area, used pickup trucks tend to sell for more than they are worth, but even $4500 would be too high here (personally). Your area may be different.
I would have to agree, I know a guy who has a early 90's F150, but the transmission jumps into neutrel while at highway speeds. He has taken it to several garages and no one can figure it out. He ended up rebuilding the transmission, and he tells me it runs like new. So after about six months of having it looked at and scratching his head, he gets it rebuilt only to now tell me it runs like new, but he wants to sell it. Then in a later conversation says he goes around mountains due to the transmission (???)
I was always skeptical if someone just paid to have the transmission rebuilt, to only sell it, throws a red flag as a flubbed job, and looking to unload the headach.
To quote Mr Tee, " I pitty the poor fool!",...........
Thanks for the input all.
Im not to worried about the transmission part , it sometimes works that way.
It wasnt worth anything without a transmission so it was worthwhile to fix it to sell.
I just spent $2000 on a tranny for a Neon so I could sell it.
It wasnt worth $500 without the tranny.

Your truck is one of the nicest trucks Ive seen for a long time and i look at 79's steadily.
What colour do you call it?
Your trucks kinda what im shooting for , Ive owned many 79's and havnt found the one I want to keep forever yet.
Lots of unfinished projects so im looking for something a little better this time.
Well I live about 4 hours away from Vancouver and for a 2wd that is for sure a bit steep for the area....If its got rust showing its got hidden rust all im saying...I Can pick them up here for 500 bucks 2wd yes in rougher shape to a degree but the truck body/box i'm running on my 4x4 150 right now is from a 450.00 F250 2wd Truck and i have almost no rust a few dents and 1 patch on my box front panel facing the cab that is super insignificant... Theres a awesome looking 4x4 on castanet in Kelowna that is for 2200. I'd say u look at it before this one...Castanet Classifieds - 1977 F250 highboy before this one on the coast .Few others there to look at too. JMO
Marko Ill give you $600 for it then.
Or find me 1/2 doz more for $450 each.

Nobodys ever given me a keeper for $500 bucks.
Your truck looks like a pretty good truck.
The link wont open so im going to have a look at Castent right now and see whats there.
I've got a flatbed I bought for 600 bucks I have only invested 1 windshield wiper into in 2 years lmao I will say the cabs and front clips not bad but the flat bed makes it look bad lol. However It did come with a 3/4ton Rear and 1/2 ton front setup so it has its issues(soon to be resolved But super strong motor and tranny and suspension..which is what really counts i guess.
I emaile the guy with the 77 I might check into a little more it looks like a decent truck.
Not as flashy as the 1/2 but it looks pretty good.
Im just looking for a toy so I want something a little nice.

Thanks Ken ... Dont know the exact name of the colour - its kinda a metalic jade/bright emeraldy green w/ a gun metal/ pewtery middle... i picked it outa a paint book. I have the codes written down.
Ya this one i build to keep(1st 2wd) , but am also looking for another 79 bronco or a crewcab.
That 77 is very nice .... everything here in Ab has a rust issue, but owners still think they hold value, or restored and outpriced. I KNOW i will never get my money outta my truck.... but i do like rescuing them....
Is it hard to bring trucks from here to there? I will keep an eye out for you if you want.
John
