fuel pump?
hi there, my fuel filter(the smaller clear one attached to the carb) is empty. i disconnected the hose when the fuel feeds in and i dumped some gasoline in the filter and filled it up, after this is ran full for 15-20 mins. the next time i started it my friend noticed that the fuel filter went to about half full, also as soon as i started it the first time it stalled out right away. i turned it over again and it ran fine but the filter was empty, i didnt want to damage it so i shut it off and havent run it since. the filter is new. ive been told it may be either the bigger inline filter inbetween the pump and the tank clogging up(its old and been sitting a long time) or that the pump diaphram is screwed so im thinking just replace the pump? anyone have any ideas why my filter might be running empty? any info would help. also how much approx. would it cost to replace the pump (1980 f150 300 i6). Thanks
