Great looking truck! And I know this is a long shot since we live pretty far apart but when it was gold was there any evidence of any true value decals that had been removed? My uncle had the EXACT same truck years ago. It was a rust free, gold, 1979 F-350 4x4, no trim, 400, 4-speed (I dont know your trans). I would have loved to have that truck, shame he sold it.
Dang Fordby4, you didn't waste any time getting that thing painted, looks good. Did you have to do any major body work? Love to get mine painted, but I'll have to do rust and dent repair before I can paint it.
Hey nice to talk with another local Ford buff, I did have some body work, replaced the doors (old doors had alot of bondo) also pulled off all the old trim (rough shape) had to weld up all the holes. Turned out ok,
I've got a couple of doors sitting in my kitchen right now waiting to swap them out with what I have. Want to get the new window felts before putting them on my truck. Need a new hood too, has a couple of dents from a 22 rifle from the PO's daughters bad aim. And it has some bondo on the front of it. Probably easier just to swap hoods than try to fix the bondo and bullet dents. Did you do the paint and bodywork yourself?
thatsrealnice,
I did all the welding on this, some minor body work, had Maaco do the rest. They finally got it right on the third try, definitly not show quality, but it was affordable
Nice, looks damn good to me. Maybe when I'm closer to welding on mine we can work something out to where you can help me, or do it for me. I've done some before but it's been a long time, and I don't have the tools or place really.
