Brake problem.....

I was in and had my back brakes checked about 5 months ago at this shop.
At the time it needed new emergency cables, brake shoes, oil seals, and spring kit as well as one drum resurfaced.
They also told me that the front brakes were at about 30%.
Last week I brought the truck in andwanted them to do the front.
When I went and checked on it at lunch they had the back tires and drums off as well as the front.
When they initially installed the parts 5 months ago the put a 90 degree kink in the Emergency Brake Cables when they reacheched the back axle.
The first time I used the brake, when I released it they never fully retracted.
They were in about a 50% lock down position.
Wore the pads and pad backing right off!!
They replaced everything,cables,drums,pads.....

On the front they replaced the pads, rotors and calipers.
After all that still if you hold the brake pedal it will drop to almost the floor but not quite.

Sounds like maybe air in the lines. I'd go back and have them bleed the system again.

Brake problem.....

They bled the system 3 times....
They said they isolated it to the front and said the master cylinder needed an upgrade?

OK. Sounds like the master cylinder plunger is leaking. Instead of good pressure when you push the pedal, the fluid is leaking around the plunger in the cylinder. Therefore, you don't get good pressure, allowing the pedal to go to the floor.

The only solution for this is to rebuilt the master cylinder or put a new/rebuilt one in.
