Just a quick question to clarify something before I order a relacement. '03 6.0. Is the drive for the radiator fan on my engine an electric motor right behind the fan, or is it driven off the engine using a clutch? Either way, does anyone have a part number for it? I've got a bearing noise coming out of it, that is getting worse by the day.
I don't have the part number but it is a variable pulse width drive type of clutch controlled by the pcm. Days of the simple viscous drive clutches are fading. Make sure it's not your water pump making the noise before replacement. 03's are notorious for weak water pumps.
Thanks for the reply. So Parts Guy Ed was right and my tech wasn't. Tech said it was an electric motor.
4C3Z8A616AA fan clutch lists for $456, parts guy ed has it for $273.</pre>We checked the water pump for the origin of the noise, but it is sound. <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();} else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
