Talking Brake Light question

I was wondering what would make the brake light for the emergency break stay on all the time, 86 F250 with a 460. It isnt because I have used the emergency break, in fact since I have bought the truck I havent even attempted to use the emergency break, I figure why risk it. It wasnt on when I parked it one evening, I came home with a new OEM duraspark ignition module, put it in, started it up to make sure it was working right and the brake light was on, 3 days later it has stayed on as well. Anyone know what might cause this and how to fix it, aside from pulling the light bulb out of the dash? Thanks

Two things can cause it.

1st. Take your foot and pull up on the parking brake lever. If it goes out, your parking brake cable needs adjusted.

2nd. If it doesn't go out by messing with the parking brake mechanism, go out and follow the hard lines from the master cylinder down till you get to a block. This block should have a wire plugged in. Unplug this wire and see if the light goes out.

Report back what you find.
