4.2 plenum differences

I have been considering getting a V6 F150 lately. While researching everything I can I see that the earlier engines have an aluminum plenum and the later are black plastic.
Have there been any problems in using the plastic on this?
Thanks for your time!

Greg,
None that I know of.
Some occasional issues with isolator bolts (seals) but nothing that I hear of related to the plastic plenum itself.

Plastic is so widely used nowdays, I'd not give it a second thought.

FWIW, my '05 has plastic plenum and 212,000 miles.
Nary a problem at all.

just found two holes melted in my #1 and #3 cylinder port right above the EGR ports. I am still contemplating how to fix it since the Ford dealer says a new plastic intake is 2-business day lead time (plus the weekend)....
