A body lift kit will give you more clearance, and make your options a bit bigger.
They run about $100.oo, and you can install it your own self (making sure it was done RIGHT!)
That's a good driveway project to introduce you to your truck in the first place, and I'd never miss it.
Keep an eye on your radius rods, Swampers don't like 'em...
Go for a straight axle truck and you will have more room to play with.

I just got done putting my 305-70-16 Goodyear Wrangler MTR's on an 8 inch wheel on my 99 F150 ext cab 4x4.They look real good and do not rub at all.I dont think you could go any bigger without a lift,they told me my 305,s would rub but they dont.
