sure could use some help. about an hour ago i headed doen the road in my 82 f100 i6 4sp. got about a mile from the house, going uphill, steady speed, steady throttle presuure when the engine rpm's went through the hood. a neighbor came by and towed me back to the house. with the help of my tractor (a ford, of course) i got it almost into the garage. i thought i would start it up and "bump" it into the garage. it is working just fine now.???
would someone suggest what i should begin to check first? i assume the trouble was in, on or around the carb but what should i be looking for? everything seems fine at the moment.
Ok im far from being an expert but Ill tell my story. I had a problem like that after my new carb was put on. What was happeing was the throttle linkage was lose and started to stick. I had to go and tighten it. Hope this helps. if not sorry!
