Electrical Problem/Migrane HEADACHE
Hello to all, 1984,150,4.9
I tried suggestions by a previous post and no go. She dies after 30 seconds running over and over, until reved way up for a few minutes. Dies until the temp comes up. With pedal to the metal it sputters, backfires etc., like timing, checked it too. On the freeway at about 50 the more accelerator I give, it looses power and starts to sputter and ping a lot. I have tried the usual troubleshoot. I have replaced the fuel pump,filter,ICM and some wires. The underhood wiring insulation disentegrates which I am told is normal on these. Maybe the ECM, temp sensor to ECM, or............ Please please no more aspirin. Thanx for your help.

I agree with dyingtolive you might have a vac leak intake gasket leaked a little when i got mine replaced it 8 months later it started leaking so bad it was doing about the same yours is backfiring would not idle when it did it would run very rough then die and be a pain to start back again

Vacuum check on lines
I put a vac gauge on one of the pips off the the carb base while it was running and throttled back and forth. It ran 20 and dropped to 12-15 correspondingly to opening the throttle. I will trace all the vac lines and make sure there are no cracked ends or other vac problems. Then I'll check the intake manifold area. Thanx
