new here just wanted to say hi to everyone. I have a 95 250 7.3l turbo 5 speed. the problem is no heat right now. i turn the dial to heat and it is cold, turn it the other way and colder. any info on this would be great
I have a similar problem and from what I've been reading it might be a blend door issue which can break with age since it is plastic. Not sure if this pertains specifically to you but maybe it's somewhere to start looking
had a similar problem on my 92. Before i got my truck the head gaskets were blown so they put blue devil (water stop leak) to cure it but in the process if plugged off heater core. relplaced heater core and hot hot heat.
Get the motor up to opp temp. Then pop the hood. Feel the two hoses going to the heater core. If one is warm / hot and the other is cool / cold Then chances are your core is plugged. IF there both warm / hot its a blend door in the duct work. If there both cold check water level and that hoses are hooked up.
You can just buy the part or even repair the part.. I found a website by googling but it didn't pertain to my case, mine is cable controlled while the website was describing actuator controlled.
We had the same problem on my '92 150 with a L6 w/out A/C a friend on mine showed me a vacume activated valve on top of blower box under the hood. That was not working when we adjusted the temp. We pushed the rod in,it was stuck full out. On the way home it was good and hot in the cab. It was about 34 out. This am it was about 14 outside and 18 in the cab..LOl
One hose was warm and the other hot befor. I don't know now that we opened this. I can still adjust the temp to cold and hot. He had said on his 86 the same valve is in line with the heater line. It is silver with the hard type vacume line running to it. I hope this helps.
