the additive is just a high concentration of fluid to make it slip more. if you add to much, your limited slip will be VERY limited, meaning it might not grab at all, and you'll have is an open diff.
i would say change your fluid with the valvoline, drive it in a figure 8 of some sorts and see if you hear/feel any chatter from your rear diff. if you hear alot, then add an ounze of fluid or so and try it again.
i only added about 2 oz to mine, and it has good grip (evident by the marks in the yard that it's not unlocked), and it doesn't chatter, or click when tuning and it is unlocked.
i have a 02 f250 5.4 it has 134xxx lies. i bought the Valvoilne 75w 90 for the front and the 75w 140 for the rear. the front was the High performance. and the rear was syn performance. i changed them over the past 2 days and what a difference in the drive. smoother and nicer. i also did the transfer case.
the t case is really easy i think i used a 10 mm Allen wrench theres a drain plug and a fill plug. mine took 2 quarts of atf. drain it then fill it.. i useds one of the caps to the diff oil and screwd it on the atf bottl then took a tube and put it on the cap. worked pretty good. let me no how it goes.
sounds like cake thanks I had't even started to look at the procedure ,, it is my last fluid besides coolant left to change
I even did brakes and steering
i as i did the front diff i did my front brakes and rotors. it drives so much nicer. i need to do my coolant also. havent looked into how to go about that one yet. should be fun.. while doing my front diff. i stripped the hex bolt 8 hours of getting that thing out sucked. i ended up taking the leaf spring mount off and used vise grips. it sucked
